Healing & Recovery at HRC

At HRC, healing and recovery are about more than treating symptoms. We support the whole person by honoring culture, identity, relationships, and the strengths people carry with them as they move toward balance, stability, and a healthier life. We believe that every person has the ability to heal themselves and others however, we must first address the root cause of the issue - which in most cases is trauma. Understanding trauma and the events surrounding it can be scary for some. At HRC, we use a trauma informed care model of client care. This allows both the client and our staff to work together to acknowledge the feelings, thoughts, and emotions connected to the trauma and explore ways to begin the healing journey.

Addiction treatment is not a one-size-fits-all program. Our clients help shape and develop their experience at HRC and continue to lead their healing journey throughout their time with us. We know and understand the importance of culture, identity, community, worldview, and unique personal beliefs each person carries with them. We believe it is our job to honor our client's views and beliefs, and incorporate them into the healing and recovery journey.

At HRC, we understand that Native people carry both deep wounds and deep strength. Generations of loss, displacement, trauma, and broken systems have affected families and communities in ways that are still felt today. But we also know that culture, identity, family, tradition, and connection have always been powerful sources of strength and healing. That is why our mission is centered on helping Native people heal, grow, and move forward in ways that honor who they are and strengthen the wellbeing of Native families and communities.
